Cannabis Certification Guide

Step 1: Gather Files: You will need the following:

1.  Electronic copy of a valid US government-issued photo ID and proof of Maryland address (for driver’s license need front and back)

2. Electronic copy of a clear, recent passport style photo

3. Last four digits of your Social Security Number

4.  A valid accessible email account

5.  Credit card for $50 fee for MMCC ID card.

Step 2: Register:  

The online application form must be completed and submitted in one session; you will not be able to save and complete the application at a later time.  Visit the MMCC Registry website and click Create Account under the Patients heading Complete the Before You Begin section to review and confirm that you have the required documents and information ready for upload

Step 3: Verify Email:

After submitting your online application, you will receive a verification email Click the link supplied in the verification email to verify your email.

You will receive another email after MMCC has reviewed your application, indicating whether or not your application has been approved.

Once approved you will be assessed a MMCC Patient ID Number, received in an email.

Step 4:

Text your name and patient id number to your physician 443-333-9493. 

He/she will then enter your information into the MMCC database for final approval.

Step 5:

Once fully registered and in possession of a valid certification, you will be able to print your temporary MMCC patient ID card, this will be required to purchase medical cannabis from a licensed Maryland dispensary.​ 

It will be good for 90 days, and can be used until you get your ID card (good for 3 years).

Step 6:

You must purchase medical cannabis within 120 days or your license will expire.
